Study notes
Example: A wilted plant perks up after watering because water fills the central vacuoles, making cells turgid (firm) again — the vacuole pushes the cytoplasm against the wall like an inflated balloon in a box. The red colour of a rose petal comes from anthocyanin pigments stored in vacuolar cell sap.
