Study notes
For 2N₂O₅ → 4NO₂ + O₂, [N₂O₅] falls 0.10 → 0.06 M in 100 s. Find rate. Step 1: Rate = −Δ[N₂O₅]/Δt = −(0.06 − 0.10)/100. Step 2: = 0.04/100 = 4.0×10⁻⁴ mol/L·s. Step 3: Rate of NO₂ formation = 2 × 4.0×10⁻⁴ = 8.0×10⁻⁴ (stoichiometry). Step 4: Rate of O₂ = ½ × 4.0×10⁻⁴ = 2.0×10⁻⁴. One rate, many expressions — linked by coefficients.
