Processes and threads

Study notes

A web server handles 100 clients: one process per client wastes memory (100 address spaces); one process with 100 threads shares code and data, switching cheaply. But a wild thread can corrupt shared memory, while processes isolate crashes. Chrome uses processes per tab for stability; servers use threads for efficiency.
