Study notes
An asthmatic wheezes at night weekly — inhaled budesonide is started daily. Frequent symptoms mean inflammation needs a controller — inhaled corticosteroids (budesonide/fluticasone) suppress airway inflammation daily; the blue salbutamol inhaler stays for rescue only. Overusing the reliever while skipping the controller is the classic error — deaths come from under-treated inflammation. Inhaler technique (slow deep breath, hold, rinse mouth) decides delivery — the drug only works where it lands.
