Study notes
A simple pendulum completes 20 oscillations in 40 seconds. Find (a) its time period, (b) its frequency, and (c) its angular frequency. Step 1: (a) T = total time / oscillations = 40 / 20 = 2 s. Step 2: (b) f = 1/T = 1/2 = 0.5 Hz. Step 3: (c) ω = 2π/T = 2π/2 = π ≈ 3.14 rad/s. Answer: (a) 2 s, (b) 0.5 Hz, (c) ≈ 3.14 rad/s. This is the classic "seconds pendulum" — each half-swing takes exactly one second.
