Study notes
Example: In a growing root cell, the nucleolus is huge and busy making rRNA for thousands of new ribosomes. When the cell divides, the loose chromatin threads coil tightly into visible X-shaped chromosomes so they can be pulled apart without tangling — like winding loose thread onto spools before moving it.
