Study notes
A new denture wearer complains of a sore spot on the ridge after one day. What is the taught response? This is expected, not failure: the rigid base presses on tissues that the soft wax try-in could not fully test. Teaching: identify the exact sore spot (often shown with pressure-indicating paste), relieve just that area minimally, and recheck — never grind broadly. Most sore spots resolve in one or two adjustment visits as tissues adapt.
