Cytoskeleton: microtubules, microfilaments
Cell envelope and organelles · Biology
Study notes
Example: When a white blood cell chases a bacterium, actin microfilaments push the cell membrane forward into arm-like pseudopods that surround the prey. During cell division, microtubules form the spindle that pulls chromosomes apart — drugs like colchicine stop division by breaking microtubules.
