Step 1: A banana plant is chosen. Step 2: The flower's ovary begins to enlarge. Step 3: Normally, the flower would need pollen to form seeds. Instead, the plant naturally produces high levels of plant hormones (Auxins) in the ovary. Step 4: These hormones tell the ovary, 'Start growing into a fruit right now!' Step 5: The ovary walls (pericarp) grow thick and fleshy. Step 6: No fertilization happens, so no seeds are formed inside. Step 7: We get a delicious, seedless yellow banana.
