Study notes
Edward Jenner (1796) noticed milkmaids with cowpox never got smallpox — he inoculated a boy with cowpox pus, and smallpox vaccination was born; 180 years later smallpox was eradicated. India's Universal Immunisation Programme gives BCG at birth, DPT/OPV at 6-10-14 weeks, measles at 9 months — the schedule on every child's vaccination card.
