Two ink spots: A travels 4 cm, B travels 6 cm, solvent front 10 cm. Find Rf. Step 1: Rf(A) = 4/10 = 0.4. Step 2: Rf(B) = 6/10 = 0.6. Step 3: Different Rf → different compounds (separated!). Step 4: Compare with knowns to identify — Rf is the ID card!
