Study notes

Draw ethanol (CH₃CH₂OH) in all four styles. Step 1: Condensed: CH₃CH₂OH — atoms grouped, bonds hidden. Step 2: Expanded: H–C–C–O–H with all H's drawn. Step 3: Bond-line: a two-segment zigzag ending in –OH (vertices = CH₃, CH₂). Step 4: Same molecule! Bond-line is fastest; condensed is clearest for small molecules.
