Q: When is dual simplex useful? Give the pivot rule idea. Useful: dual feasible but primal infeasible (e.g. added constraint, RHS changed)! Start: z-row ≥ 0 (dual feasible), some bᵢ < 0 (primal infeasible). Leaving: most negative bᵢ. Entering: min ratio (dual feasibility kept). End: b ≥ 0: primal feasible + dual feasible: OPTIMAL! (Reoptimization: warm start!)
