Study notes
A diabetes screening camp finds 30 unknown diabetics in one village. This is secondary prevention (early detection — screening catches disease before symptoms) plus the iceberg phenomenon (visible cases are the tip — subclinical many). Primary prevention (healthy diet, exercise campaigns) would have prevented some; tertiary (foot care, rehab for complications) limits disability. The camp's yield proves the hidden burden — public health hunts below the surface.
