Study notes
A single glucose molecule processed by mitochondria yields about 30–32 ATP. The mitochondrion's folded inner membrane (cristae) packs in the electron-transport chains that make this possible — more folds mean more ATP per second, which is why muscle cells are packed with mitochondria.
