Study notes

Example: A metal rod of length 0.5 m is sliding at a speed of 2 m/s perpendicular to a uniform magnetic field of 0.3 tesla. Find the induced EMF. Step 1: Identify the given values. - Length, l = 0.5 m - Speed, v = 2 m/s - Magnetic field, B = 0.3 T Step 2: Use the formula for a straight conductor: EMF = B × l × v Step 3: Plug in the numbers: EMF = 0.3 T × 0.5 m × 2 m/s EMF = 0.3 × 1 EMF = 0.3 V Answer: The induced EMF is 0.3 volts.
