Full-mouth rehabilitation basics, occlusion and TMD basics

Study notes
A patient with severely worn teeth needs full-mouth rehabilitation. Why is TMD screening done first? Rebuilding the entire bite changes jaw joint loading. If temporomandibular disorder (joint pain, clicking, limited opening) already exists, it must be identified and stabilized before reconstruction — otherwise the new bite is built on a dysfunctional foundation and symptoms worsen. Teaching order: diagnose the joint, then rebuild the teeth.
