Anesthesiology · MBBS
Study notes
Can't intubate — LMA placed; oxygenated; surgery safe. Airway: assessment (Mallampati I–IV — tongue/pharynx; LEMON — look, evaluate, Mallampati, obstruction, neck: difficult — predictors), intubation (ETT — laryngoscopy — cuff — confirm — EtCO2 — gold; auscultation), LMA (supraglottic — easier — blind; not aspiration-proof — fasting needed), difficult airway (can't intubate — can't oxygenate — algorithm — LMA → bougie → surgical — cricothyrotomy), RSI (aspiration risk — full stomach — cricoid — suxamethonium). Capnography confirms — always.
