Study notes
Worked example: find the output of Y = (A OR B) AND (NOT C) for A = 1, B = 0, C = 1. Step 1: Work inside the brackets first. A OR B = 1 OR 0 = 1 (OR gives 1 if any input is 1). Step 2: Evaluate NOT C = NOT 1 = 0 (NOT flips the value). Step 3: Combine the results with AND: 1 AND 0 = 0 (AND gives 1 only when both are 1). Final answer: Y = 0. Now try a second one yourself first, then check: Y = (NOT A) NOR B with A = 0, B = 0. NOT A = NOT 0 = 1. NOR of 1 and 0 = NOT (1 OR 0) = NOT 1 = 0. So Y = 0.
