How many moles and molecules are in 36 g of water (H₂O)? Step 1: Molar mass of H₂O = 2(1) + 16 = 18 g/mol. Step 2: moles = 36 g / 18 g/mol = 2 mol. Step 3: molecules = 2 × 6.022 × 10²³ = 1.204 × 10²⁴ molecules. Answer: 2 moles, about 1.2 × 10²⁴ molecules.
