Study notes
Bleeding gums with no bone loss on X-ray — gingivitis or periodontitis? Gingivitis: inflammation is confined to the gum, the attachment is intact, and professional cleaning plus home care reverses it fully. Periodontitis would show attachment loss and bone changes. Students learn this boundary as the most important diagnostic line in periodontology — reversible vs irreversible.
