Study notes
Why are denture teeth first set in wax for a try-in before final processing? Wax allows repositioning: at try-in the dentist checks appearance (smile line, tooth shade), speech (F/V sounds against upper incisors), and bite comfort with the patient present. Errors found now — a tooth too long, midline off — are corrected in minutes in wax. After processing into hard acrylic, changes require grinding or remaking. The try-in is the last reversible checkpoint.
