Indices: DMFT/dmft, CPI, Dean's fluorosis index
Public Health Dentistry · Dental (BDS)
Study notes
Two districts report caries differently. How do indices fix this? DMFT standardizes - every survey counts decayed, missing, filled teeth identically, making districts comparable across time and place. Students learn indices as epidemiology's rulers: without standardized measurement, surveys are anecdotes; with DMFT/CPI/Dean's, they become evidence that moves policy and funding.
