Q: Testing 3 fertilizers on 12 plots in 3 fields (4 plots each). Design the experiment. Blocking: each field is a block (soil differs by field!). Within each field, randomly assign the 3 fertilizers to plots (one plot extra - replicate one). Randomized block design: field effects separated from fertilizer effects!
