Q: Find least-squares line for (0,1), (1,3), (2,4). n = 3. Σx = 3, Σy = 8, Σxy = 0+3+8 = 11, Σx² = 5. b = (nΣxy-ΣxΣy)/(nΣx²-(Σx)²) = (33-24)/(15-9) = 9/6 = 1.5. a = (Σy-bΣx)/n = (8-4.5)/3 = 1.1667. y = 1.1667+1.5x! (Residuals: -0.1667, 0.3333, -0.1667: sum 0!)
