Teen with knee pain — sunburst metaphysis; osteosarcoma; chemo + surgery. Skeletal: fractures (describe — bone, location, pattern — transverse/spiral; displacement, angulation; open/closed; Salter-Harris — children), arthritis (OA — joint space narrowing — osteophytes; RA — erosions — juxta-articular; gout — tophi), tumors (age/location — osteosarcoma — teens metaphysis — sunburst/Codman — chemo + limb salvage; Ewing — diaphysis — onion-peel; myeloma — elderly — punched-out — Bence Jones; metastases — commonest — prostate/breast: biopsy — diagnoses), metabolic (osteoporosis — DEXA; rickets — cupping). The sunburst teen is osteosarcoma — biopsy first.
