Study notes
20 mL H₂ and 10 mL O₂ are exploded in a eudiometer. Find the gas volume left (steam condenses). Step 1: Reaction: 2H₂ + O₂ → 2H₂O(l). Step 2: 20 mL H₂ needs 10 mL O₂ — exact ratio, both consumed. Step 3: Product water condenses to liquid (negligible volume). Step 4: No gas remains → 0 mL gas left. If 30 mL H₂ were used: 10 mL H₂ excess remains.
