Study notes

25 mL of NaOH is neutralised by 20 mL of 0.5 M H₂SO₄. Find NaOH molarity. Step 1: Equation: 2NaOH + H₂SO₄ → Na₂SO₄ + 2H₂O (ratio 2:1). Step 2: Moles H₂SO₄ = 0.5 × 0.020 = 0.01 mol. Step 3: Moles NaOH = 2 × 0.01 = 0.02 mol. Step 4: M_NaOH = 0.02 / 0.025 = 0.8 M. Using N₁V₁ = N₂V₂: N_acid = 1 N... wait: N(H₂SO₄) = 2 × 0.5 = 1 N; N_base × 25 = 1 × 20 → N_base = 0.8 N = 0.8 M (n-factor 1).
