Study notes

0.5 g sample gives 0.3 g BaSO₄. Find % sulphate (SO₄²⁻). Step 1: Gravimetric factor = MW(SO₄²⁻)/MW(BaSO₄) = 96/233. Step 2: Mass SO₄²⁻ = 0.3 × 96/233 = 0.1236 g. Step 3: % = 0.1236/0.5 × 100 = 24.7%. Step 4: Weigh, multiply, percentage — gravimetry's simple power!
