Study notes

In a Daniell cell Zn|Zn²⁺||Cu²⁺|Cu, identify anode, cathode, electron flow. Step 1: Zn oxidised (E° lower) → ANODE; Cu²⁺ reduced → CATHODE. Step 2: Electrons flow Zn → Cu through the wire (anode to cathode). Step 3: Salt bridge: anions → anode, cations → cathode (charge balance). Step 4: Galvanic: anode is NEGATIVE (electron source). In electrolysis this flips. An Ox, Red Cat — anode oxidation, cathode reduction, always.
