Daniell cell E° = 1.10 V, n = 2. Find E when [Zn²⁺] = 0.1 M, [Cu²⁺] = 0.001 M. Step 1: Q = [Zn²⁺]/[Cu²⁺] = 0.1/0.001 = 100. Step 2: E = 1.10 − (0.0591/2) log(100) = 1.10 − 0.0296 × 2. Step 3: E = 1.10 − 0.0591 = 1.04 V. Step 4: Q > 1 (products high) → voltage sags below E°. Nernst quantifies the sag as the cell discharges.
